GXG History:
1) origin of the brand:
The brand of GXG Company was established at end of 1970’s in France. It was a design company specialized in high quality leisure apparel, operated by the brother : Gill and Green.
Mr. Gill was the initiator , who is an excellent aerial armyman in his youth. During his service, he had been deep influenced by the army culture & lifeway and he created an army-style-brand for men in his name in Strasbourg, France after his service. Gill said: The life in army impressed him much in the preciseness of living attitude; the staidness of details; the following of the classic and the abidance of the promise. All of these had been mixed into the requirements and wishes to the young generation by using the concept of apparel.
So Gill ‘s first step is to design for young men aged from 20-35 and main products are in army style. At the end of 19’s, this brand is popular and loved by French young consumer and more than 30 shops were established in succession.
2) GXG Developing:
Along with the versatility developing of apparel, Mr. Gill found that the young ages had already changed the idea of wearing same as the changing of the thoughts about living: from “self-“ grow-up to care about the world outside. Young men had more space to imagine, to grow up. The single army style could not meet requirements of such occasions any more for young men as gathering, work, vacation that every one would select the apparel according to different situations. So Mr. Gill invited designer Mr. Green sincerely to develop brand “Gill” together and from then on the brand “GXG” was born.
Brand GXG contributed to the integrity and versatility of the wearing culture. Gill and Green worked on the development and mixture of two different kinds of products:
Gill upholds Freedom, leisure and fashion fabric. By using Cutting, Buttons Zippers, embroidery and print to express the style : In Fashion but no exaggeration ; Popular but not in common.
Green is in charge of another important style. He believes in Perpetual and Classical spirits. By using the popular fabric and fashionable technic to illuminate the men’s style in classic: Magnificent but not out of time; Simple but Consummate.
With the join of Green, the other side of men’s was well completed. We can clearly to see it by using a translation from an advertisement of GXG in France: GXG lead men into a 24- hour-life in versatility”.
The mixture of “Gill” and “Green” has made the previous “single G” to “double G” successfully which we can see nowadays. It makes the young office gentleman be in Fashion, Confidence and brilliance anywhere at anytime..

In 20’s, GXG started to carry out the global-brand-spreading plan, it established shops in middle & big cities in Holand, Finland, Czech, Bulgaria, Germany, West of USA, etc. which has made a good prepare work for brand’s steping into and further spreading. Up to now, there are 80 shops totally in the world.
GXG in China
The Asia market is an important part of GXG in making a global brand. The Brand “Gill” has kept oprating business in Tokyo and Osaka in Japan. During the Hongkong Fashion week 2006-Jan., The presentation of GXG-Asia led into a hot influence in Fashion realm. This is the first big activity of GXG in Asia market.
Ningbo U&K Garment Co., LTD. had been cooperated with GXG in international trading for years. And with the good reputation in business, in Oct. 2006, GXG authorized Ningbo U&K Garment Co., LTD. be representative for all business in mainland of China. Then Ningbo U&K Jessica Fashion company was registered for operating the GXG brand business in China.
GXG company and Ningbo U&K Group has made an agreement in brand marketing for the very first season in China –Autumn,2007: To establish own shops in the main markets; Together with League-management in second-third markets. It is planned to have more than 80 shops by year 2008. And GXG company in France will provide more than 70% of designs , fabric, accessory and fashion info.
